Understanding Usage Limits

Usage Limits, Reset Timing, and Request Rates

Each subscription plan on iC Candle includes usage limits designed to support fair access, stable performance, and predictable analysis capacity. These limits apply to scans, tracking, data analysis, workspace usage, and request rates, and they scale with each plan level. Limits are managed using a rolling 24-hour reset model, combined with request-per-minute (RPM) controls to ensure smooth and consistent platform usage.

How Usage Limits Work

When you perform an action that consumes quota — such as running a scan, triggering analysis, or using a tracking feature — that action is counted immediately against your plan’s limits. Usage is tracked at the moment the action occurs. Each plan includes defined daily limits as well as a maximum number of requests allowed per minute. These two systems work together to balance overall usage and short-term activity.

Rolling 24-Hour Reset Model

Usage limits do not reset at a fixed time of day. Instead, each action resets 24 hours after it was used. This means: - There is no daily reset at midnight or any fixed clock time. - Each action becomes available again exactly 24 hours after its usage. - Available capacity restores gradually as older activity passes the 24-hour mark. If you pause activity for more than 24 hours, your full daily quota becomes available again when you return.

Continuous Activity and Gradual Recovery

If you continue using the platform throughout the day, quota restores progressively rather than all at once. This allows consistent analysis without sudden resets or usage spikes. This approach ensures smoother workflows and more predictable access, especially for users performing frequent or ongoing analysis.

Request-Per-Minute (RPM) Limits

In addition to daily usage limits, each plan includes a request-per-minute (RPM) threshold. RPM limits control how many actions can be performed within a short time window. RPM limits vary by plan level and are designed to: - prevent overload during rapid activity - maintain performance for all users - encourage steady, intentional usage Higher plans include higher RPM thresholds to support more intensive and parallel workflows.

Plan-Based Scaling

As you move to higher plans, limits increase across: - daily scans and analysis actions - active trackers and monitoring capacity - available workspace tabs - request-per-minute rates All plans share the same analytical foundation; the differences reflect how much analysis you can run and how frequently you can interact with the platform.

Why This System Is Used

The combination of rolling resets and RPM limits ensures fairness, stability, and transparency. Instead of sudden daily resets or unrestricted bursts, capacity is restored naturally based on actual usage patterns. This model helps users understand when resources become available again and plan analysis accordingly.

Summary

Usage limits are tracked per action and reset 24 hours after each action is used. There is no fixed daily reset time. Request-per-minute limits apply to short-term activity and scale by plan. Higher plans provide higher capacity and faster interaction rates. This structure ensures consistent access while supporting a wide range of analytical workflows.
